Penicillin-Streptomycin, 100-x, lyophilized
The Penicillin-Streptomycin is effective abtibiotic against a wide range of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, and is used for the prevention of bacterial contamination of cell cultures.
Mechanism of antibiotics action: streptomycin inhibits protein biosynthesis, penicillin inhibits cell wall synthesis.
The recommended working concentration for cell culture is 100 ml/l (from the resulting 100-x solution).
This product is intended for research purposes.
Formulation:
- Penicillin-25,000 units
- Streptomycin-25,000 µg
PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS: To obtain 100-x solution, add 5 ml of sterile distilled water to the vial.
HOW SUPPLIED: in sterile glass or PET bottle of 10 ml.
SHELF LIFE: 2 year.
STORAGE CONDITIONS: at room temperature in a place protected from light.
RECOMMENDED USE:
- Do not use the product after its expiry date.
- Use gloves, mask and clothes adapted to the manipulation of the product to avoid contamination.
- Manipulate the product in aseptic conditions.
